VISITING MAYA BAY, PHI PHI ISLANDS, THAILAND

Visiting Maya Bay in Thailand's Phi Phi Islands has been on my travel bucket list for forever. It's the picture perfect beach where Leonardo DiCaprio played a backpacker in the movie "The Beach" and the source of inspiration for computer background stock images everywhere. It's not a stretch to say that I planned our trip to Thailand around this excursion and was so looking forward to it. The downside is that Maya Bay is also #1 on many other people's lists too. To beat the crowds and have the experience you want it's important to thoughtfully plan out your visit to Maya Bay in advance.

10 MUST-DOS IN BANGKOK

Bangkok is a city that always feels alive with non-stop action. There's something new around every corner-  new sights, smells, sounds and food to taste. It's a city where the very old blends in with the very new seamlessly; temples sit in the middle of city blocks lined with high-rises. A DAY AT MOHONK MOUNTAIN HOUSE

The historic Mohonk Mountain House in the Hudson Valley region of New York has been on my radar for a long time. The resort grounds span 40,000 acres situated by Lake Mohonk and on the Shawangunk Ridge, near the Catskill Mountains. The hotel, which was founded in 1869, has a rich history hosting prominent people in American history, including presidents, industrialists and religious leaders. Mohonk is a member of the Historic Hotels in America list and was designated a National Historic Landmark. I've heard fabulous things about the resort and its stunning grounds, and was so excited to have the chance to visit as a day guest.
