Fashion // Perfect Summer Dress

My qualifications for the perfect summer dress? Light and breezy fabric, major plus if it’s in my favorite summer color (hello, navy!), and a style that can take you from a daytime stroll on the boardwalk to rooftop cocktails. This Maggy London shift dress hits all the above, and has been on repeat since I received it. It’s such a comfortable and flattering dress and works in so many situations. I especially love the cut out lace design and the scallop detailing on the bottom hem. Dress is down with Jacks (currently on sale!) and a hat, or add nude heels and a bright clutch for a more formal event. A+ summer dress in my book! I'm so excited for the long weekend ahead! I'm looking forward to a lot of beach time, bike rides and BBQ. I've had on my eye on this and the 4th of July seems like the perfect occasion to pull the trigger! This dress is seriously adorable and I think pairing it with this would be the perfect patriotic outfit. Here's some red, white and blue fashion inspo to help you plan for the most festive long weekend!

Maggy London // Blue Floral Dress

How adorable is this blue floral dress? It just screams summer to me! I was immediately drawn to it when Maggy London asked me to pick out my favorite dresses as part of a summer Brand Ambassadorship. I mentioned here that I wore it to a graduation party and it was the perfect choice. The sleeveless cut and cotton fabric kept me cool for hours in the sun, and the floral print is perfect for an outdoor summer soiree. The fit-and-flare silhouette is also super flattering (and the full skirt would be extra fun on a dance floor!)

These lace-up sandals have frustratingly been sold out for months in the tan color (lots available in black though!). I found a lower heeled version that's available in many sizes and this ($80!) and this look pretty similar.

Fashion // Maggy London

I'm so excited to share that I'm partnering with Maggy London as a summer Brand Ambassador. I've long been a fan of the brand's dresses and I'm looking forward to sharing my Maggy love over the next few months, giving you a look at my favorite dress picks.

Maggy London's feminine, flirty dresses speak to my personal style and love of all things girly. I also love the wide range of styles, sizes, and prints offered... it's like your one stop dress shop! Whether you're stocking up for summer weddings, looking for an office appropriate dress, or adding another LBD to your arsenal, Maggy London has you covered.

Below is a look at four Maggy London dresses I'm currently loving, all are available here. I adore the bow and lace detailing of the black and white dress. I wore it to a friend's tea party themed bridal shower, and the full party skirt silhouette and feminine touches fit in perfectly with the girly theme. The blue floral frock was my outfit for a spring graduation party. The fit-and-flare style and crew neckline make this dress so flattering. I also love that the floral print looks like cherry blossoms, my favorite! I wore the leaf printed dress and the navy number while vacationing in Charleston. I'm loving everything with a leaf design this summer and of course I can never say no to navy, so both were no brainers. Since both of these dresses are more simple on top you can have fun styling them with accessories like bold earrings or a bright bag in a contrasting color.

Home // Spruce Up Your Home for Summer

Do you change up your home décor with the seasons? I like doing simple things like switching out decorative pillows, changing throws, and adding seasonally appropriate décor to a room. I was perusing new items to brighten up my space for the warm months, and came across a bucket load of adorable summer décor items from Target. Since the items are from Target you know they won’t break the bank, which is perfect when you’re looking for something to liven up your home for a few months.

I adore this happy little vase, am dying to add this summer-y throw pillow to my collection, and think a couple of these whimsical candle holders would make a perfect centerpiece for a summer dinner al fresco. All of these items are under $60, and most are under $20! Seriously big decorating bang for your buck.

Fashion // Pineapple Love

I absolutely love pineapple motifs. Pineapples are heralded as symbols of hospitality and welcomeness in home decor, and in colonial America, they were signs of luxury (it was an expensive and tropical fruit). To me, pineapples scream summer, and I've been seeing them everywhere in clothing stores this season. Below are some of my most favorite pineapple printed items for summer.

Travel // Jersey Shore Mini Guide- Asbury Park

I've been living in NYC for 10 years (time flies!) and while I love this city I crave away time. The noise, crowds, grime, and insane hustle everyone has are things that make this city what it is and I wouldn't change anything (well maybe the grime), but it's nice to have a little break. One of the best, and easiest, places for a quick city escape is the Jersey Shore.

Growing up outside of the tri-state area, I always thought "Jersey Shore" was a specific town or area, but it's actually the entire coast of New Jersey. Every town and community up and down the coast has unique characteristics and it seems like everyone has their favorite beach spot. One of my favorite spots is Asbury Park.

I love Asbury for a few reasons... It's an easy trip from Manhattan, there's a fun boardwalk, and the town is having a sort of renaissance with new bars, restaurants and shops popping up all the time. Asbury is also home to the legendary Stone Pony, where Bruce Springsteen got his start and it still hosts lots of great concerts. It's a unique, quirky town filled with character. Here are some tips and photos to help you plan the best city escape to Asbury Park.

Getting There: If you have a car (and there’s not traffic) it’s an easy drive that takes a little over an hour. You can also take the NJ Transit train that stops in many of the shore towns, including Asbury. Asbury is far enough away to feel like a satisfying city break, but it’s close enough for a day trip. If you’re interested in staying the night, I’ve heard wonderful things about the newly opened hotel, The Asbury.

Do: There’s so much to do in Asbury. I love going to the beach but have been out of season too and had a great time. Take a stroll on the long boardwalk for some amazing people watching and shopping, play a round of mini golf on the boardwalk’s course, grab cocktails at one of the many beachfront bars, see a show at the Stone Pony… the list goes on and on.

Eat and Drink: Some of my favorite spots in AP for a drink are the Asbury Park Yacht Club, the Biergarten, and the Beach Bar. The Wonder Bar is a quirky, classic Asbury spot that has an outdoor dog bar (yappy hour!). For food I love grabbing a bite outside on the boardwalk at Langosta Lounge, or heading a few blocks into town for pizza at Talula's.

Fashion // Weekend at The Beach

Now that Memorial Day is in the rearview mirror, summer beach season has officially begun. There are so many cute bathing suits and summer accessories out there that I'm loving. I've already picked up this tropical pouch, a new favorite bikini, and have my eye on these adorable sandals. I love the uniqueness of this one piece and am dying to get my hands on one of these for the season (here's a DIY that gets you the look for less!) Here are some cute beach-y clothes and accessories to help you have the most stylish summer yet!

Fashion // Off Shoulder and Oaks

This is one of my favorite outfit posts to date. It's a look I really love, feel comfortable in and would wear on so many occasions. The location is also simply stunning. These photos were taken on the Avenue of Oaks at Boone Hall Plantation in Charleston. I adore the huge oaks draped in Spanish moss that can be seen around the South, and having so many together is magical. These oaks were planted in 1743 by Thomas Boone, and they line a 3/4 mile long path leading to the Boone Hall house.

This dress is so adorable for summer. I love the light pink color, and the loose fit and the off-the-shoulder neckline is insanely flattering. It's also something you can wear to many different events. I wore this outfit sightseeing around Charleston, plan to wear it to an engagement party next month, and to endless date nights at rooftop bars throughout the summer. It's dressy and pretty but not formal. I love having versatile pieces in my closet, and really hate buying something that I can only wear once or to one kind of event. These shoes are also super comfortable! I love anything scalloped and immediately bought them when they came out. I was surprised at just how comfy they are! I also love that they come in different styles, so you can get the scalloped shoe look a variety of ways... they come in flats, a more formal heel, and a lower wedge option.

Travel // Guide to Charming Charleston, SC

Charleston is hands down my favorite city next to New York. I just love the history, the architecture, the people, the food... everything about it is so charming. I recently spent a week in Charleston before my friend's bachelorette party at a nearby beach community.
