Fashion // Green Tassel Dress

One of my favorite summer trends (aside from off-the-shoulder pieces!) is tassels. They're such a cute statement and instantly make an outfit more fun. This Maggy London dress is so perfect for summer. The color is a gorgeous green, the shift shape is forgiving and comfortable, and the tassels elevate the dress to a must-have piece.

Another thing I love about this dress is its versatility. It works for so many occasions, and that's something I look for as I invest in new clothing. This dress would be perfect for a date night, weekend brunches, or you could even wear it to the office (if you don't have a strict dress code). I paired it with a big straw hat, classic sunnies, and coral nail polish for some boardwalk carnival games and ice cream sundaes with friends down the Jersey Shore.

Fashion // Red and White Striped Dress

How fun is this off the shoulder dress? I've talked about my off the shoulder love here, here and here, and this dress is one of my favorites so far! I love the beachy vibe the red and white stripes give and the material is a perfect thick cotton. Another plus is the elastic in the neckline is really strong so the sleeves stay put, which I've found isn't always the case. I wore this dress for boardwalk strolling after a beach day and got a bunch of compliments. If you're still searching for the perfect little sundress, I can't recommend this one highly enough!

Fashion // Blue and White Romper

This blue and white romper has to be one of my most favorite summer purchases to date. How incredibly darling is it? And want to know the best part...it's under $70! For a long time I wasn't really a romper person, but this one is just so good. The back is a little longer than the front so you feel covered up (a major issue I have with many rompers) and the blue and white print is so perfect for the summer. Add an adorable Panama hat and a fun clutch and you have yourself a perfect summer outfit!

Fashion // Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

I'm sure you've heard that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is underway. It's open now for early access if you have a Nordstrom card, and it opens to the general public on July 22, running through August 8. All the items are for fall/winter and they're discounted, so as you can imagine stuff sells out fast!

While I love this sale, it can get a little overwhelming sifting through hundreds and hundreds of items looking for styles you love and the best deals. I spent some time going through Nordstrom's site and wanted to share my two favorite items you can purchase during the anniversary sale: booties and cashmere.

By far the two most worn and versatile items in the fall and winter are booties and cozy sweaters. I absolutely love these booties for fall and scooped up a pair for myself. They're a really good deal at $80. I plan to wear them with skinny denim, skirts and dresses throughout the colder months. And how perfect is this sweater? It's a classic, wear-everywhere style in cashmere for under $100, how can you say no?! It also comes in a variety of colors and I may purchase a couple to alternate when it's 10 degrees outside.

Although it's hard to imagine winter when it's so hot outside, it will be here sooner than we know! A closet full of cute items you got at a great price will make it so much better!

Fashion // Little Red Dress

I think a red dress is almost as important a wardrobe staple as a LBD.  Red is such a universal color that I almost think of it as a neutral. It looks good on everyone (yes, even red heads. Just check out Julianne Moore's best red carpet looks where 3 of the gowns are red), it's such a vibrant happy color, and it really makes a statement. You certainly can't hide in red, and I find when I wear the color I stand a bit taller, smile more, and just feel stellar. You can't help but feel confident in a bright red outfit. This red Maggy London dress is such a fun summer look. The classic style, fun embellished neckline, and flattering cut make it the perfect LRD for a closet staple. Aside from the bright color, my favorite part of this dress is the jeweled neckline. Gotta love a dress that adds the bling for you so you don't have to think about accessories.

I like to think of The Gramercy Girl as a fun little space to scroll through and see pretty photos, get fashion inspiration, and encourage wanderlust. I don't really like to get personal or political here, but I do want to say how my heart is broken after such a tragic week. All lives matter and can we all please just be nice to each other? Remember to take the time to hug those closest to you and tell your friends and family you love them. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Fashion // Stripes and Straw Totes

Two of my summer must haves? Stripes and straw totes. Blue and white stripes just scream summer to me and there's no better beach bag than a straw market tote. I wore this striped cover up and straw tote to the beach in Shelter Island over the Fourth of July weekend, and it's pretty much been my summer weekend uniform. This exact dress is from a little boutique in Italy called Hidden Forest Market and this tote is from a basket company in Morocco, so the exact pieces aren't available, but I rounded up some lookalikes at all different price ranges below! (and the wear-everywhere hat appears again!)

From most expensive to least:

Fashion // Red, White & Blue Romper

I hope everyone had a fabulous long weekend and Fourth of July! I wore this patriotic romper while on Shelter Island over the weekend. I absolutely love the ruffled shorts, the flattering neckline, and the patriotic coloring is so perfect for summer! I'm really picky when it comes to rompers and this is one of my most favorite ones yet. The length is perfect (which is always key), not too long that it looks like a diaper, but long enough to feel comfortably covered up. The ruffles and tie in the back add something special too (and the elastic waist is welcomed when you indulge on a few too many ice cream cones, oops).  This romper is also currently available in all sizes! (anyone else feel like clothes have been flying off the shelves and constantly out of stock?!) I paired it with my favorite hat, and was ready for a BBQ! A little PSA, I've been seriously wearing this hat nonstop. It's really hard for me to find flattering hats (I have a really small head...) and this one is just amazing. It goes with almost everything and also comes in sizes, which I love! If you're looking for a good summer hat, I can't recommend this one enough!

Happy Fourth of July weekend, friends! I'm so excited for this long weekend and to be out of the city and out of the office. I'm spending the weekend on Shelter Island, which is a totally new to me place. It's a small island off of The Hamptons that's supposed to be super relaxing and laid back... I can't wait! I'll be doing a Shelter Island travel guide when I return, and be sure to follow me on Instagram for in the moment snaps! For now, here are some links and reads that caught my eye this week. Happy Fourth everyone!
