A WEEKEND GETAWAY WITH BORGATA ATLANTIC CITY

As much as I love living in New York City, it can lose its luster now and then. The crowds, noise and constant craziness can really get to you. I'm always looking for ways to unwind and escape the city on the weekend. A few weeks ago I headed down the Jersey Shore to visit Borgata, a massive hotel, casino and spa in Atlantic City. It was such an easy getaway at only a couple hours drive from Manhattan, and it proved to be the perfect respite!

The timing couldn't have been better for a weekend getaway. The winter in New York City was seemingly endless and the grey skies and below normal temperatures well into April were completely bringing me down. I was so looking forward to a short trip away to experience all Borgata has to offer. And it really has to offer a lot! Borgata is an absolutely huge complex with over 2,000 contemporary luxury guest rooms, a 161,000 square foot casino, over 10 delicious and varied restaurants, a world-class spa and an amazing entertainment center. I was blown away by how big the hotel is!

After checking into our large and well appointed room, I headed right to the Immersion Spa on the 32nd floor of The Water Club. I was in awe of how beautiful the space is! The Water Club and spa area are very serene yet modern, with huge windows overlooking the city and views of the Atlantic Ocean. I had a manicure service and it was great! I spent some time in the lap pool and jacuzzi looking out towards the ocean and felt so far (in a great way) from Manhattan.

After the spa, we spent time wandering around the grounds and getting familiar with the hotel. I loved how well decorated the space is and really enjoyed seeing Chihuly blown glass presented throughout! The restaurants, shops and bars are situated around the casino and it felt so lively, like pulses of excited energy were vibrating throughout the space. Borgata has something to offer everyone- whether you're into relaxing spa days, trying your luck in the casino, or spending a night out dining and seeing a show. All different types of groups were out enjoying what Borgata has to offer- bachelor parties, groups of girlfriends, families and couples of all ages.

We had plans for dinner at Izakaya, a beautiful Japanese restaurant. The food and cocktails at Izakaya were delicious and the hospitality was great too. If Japanese isn't your thing, Borgata boasts 5 unique signature restaurants run by celebrity chefs, in addition to a slew of other casual choices, so there's a fabulous offering for every taste.

In addition to its gorgeous spa and expansive casino, Borgata is known as the premiere entertainment destination in Atlantic City. The hotel offers a comprehensive lineup of world-class artists year-round who perform at Borgata’s Event Center and The Music Box theater. Borgata has hosted some HUGE names in the entertainment industry, including Chris Rock, Mariah Carey, Eric Clapton and The Who. And Britney Spears will perform later this summer! The night we were there Jerry Seinfeld was performing stand-up and I was so excited to have snagged tickets! His performance was amazing and it was so cool to see him live. His act was held in Borgata's Event Center and while it's a large space, it felt very intimate which I loved.

Borgata is a great place to visit for a unique weekend getaway. Its close proximity to Philadelphia and New York City make it an easy trip to escape city life for some fun and relaxation. I'm already planning my next visit with a couple girlfriends to unwind at the spa and visit the outdoor pool area once it's open in the summer!

I received a free stay and complimentary experiences courtesy of Borgata to review. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that make My Darling Passport possible!
